American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards for vinyl fencing was first required at 8% TiO2, or 8 parts per hundred. In the last decade, the Federal Government has increased this amount for manufacturers to a minimum of 10% TiO2. There are several manufacturers in the United States that voluntarily use a higher TiO2 content level (12%) for maximum protection against the outside elements, including temperature and weather.
